Sweet Treat – Gaby’s Tropical Fruit Ice Cream

January 7, 2009

Gaby Berryer, owner of Gaby’s Tropical Fruit Ice Cream, has created a line of about 30 delicious ice creams and sorbets made with tropical fruits.  With fun names like Vanilla Shiraz, Pure Passion, Jumping Jackfruit and Creme de Canistel, the colorful packaging and yummy looking ice creams draw you right in.

Currently, you can find 14 varieties at Whole Foods in Florida as well as some south Florida restaurants, gourmet markets and even at Schnebly Redland’s Winery and the Fruit and Spice Park.  My favorites are the Vanilla Shiraz (pistachio, rosewater and saffron), I Wanna Guanabana (a sort of peachy flavor) and Mamey Sapote Dearest (a sweet pumpkin/butterscotch taste.)

Gaby grows many of the tropical fruits that she uses and she makes the frozen treats right on her Homestead farm.  For more information about Gaby’s products, check out

Grab a spoon and enjoy!

If I am ever in South Florida or at a Whole Foods, I’ll have to look for her brand! I don’t have a Whole Foods near me, but it sounds so good!
