Behind the Scenes: Final Image

February 9, 2009

A while back I posted some behind the scene images from one of our photo shoots.  I promised to post the final image as well – but I have been a slacker this past month, and kept forgetting. But, I finally remembered and here it is! A delicious Florida Sweet Pepper and Beef Steak Sandwich – and of course the recipe is written by our wonderful Chef Justin. Be sure to try it out and let us know what you think!

Florida Sweet Pepper and Beef Steak Sandwich

Yield 2 Servings

Ingredients

1/2 Florida bell pepper (your favorite color), thinly sliced
1/2 small onion, thinly sliced
6 ounces lean roast beef, shaved
2 whole-wheat buns
2 to 4 slices low fat cheddar cheese (or your favorite)
Several dashes steak sauce (your favorite)

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 F. Lightly coat a baking pan with cooking spray. Spray a frying pan with cooking spray. Over medium heat, sauté the peppers and onions until they start to soften, 3 to 5 minutes. Add the roast beef and steak sauce, sauté for an additional 2 to 3 minutes. Place 1/2 of the roast beef mixture on each bun. Place sandwiches on the lightly sprayed baking pan. Top each bun with 2 slices of the cheese. Bake until the cheese has melted, 2 to 4 minutes. Serve with fresh vegetable sticks or low fat chips.
