Junselle’s Ingredient Mix a Turkish Delight

March 24, 2009

One of the really cool aspects of working for the Department is the opportunity to work with our Florida agricultural growers and producers and sample their products so we can help market them.

I was pleasantly surprised when I tasted Junselle’s Turkish Gold, a gourmet ingredient mix full of oats, coconut and other tasty items.  Owner Cansel (pronounced “Junselle”) Osberg proudly talks about her mix and shares how people like to incorporate it into recipes.  We gave out samples at the Florida Classic in November and it was met with rave reviews.  In addition to just eating it straight out of the bag, my favorite way to eat it is layering it with yogurt and fruit – yum!

Cansel produces the mix in Gainesville and many local stores there carry it.  However, you can also order it online.  She has added a gluten-free bread mix to her product line and I can’t wait to try it.

Florida agriculture is definitely about fresh products, but it is also about value-added products.  Treat yourself and try Junselle’s Turkish Gold today!

Looks tasty. Could probably sprinkle that on my Froot Loops and pretend it’s a nutritious breakfast!
