It’s Getting Cold in the Sunshine State
One of the things that Florida is most known for is its warm temperatures. After all, it is the Sunshine State. However, residents all the way from Tallahassee to Miami have definitely been feeling the effects of the arctic cold front that moved into Florida this week. Some folks are excited by the temperature dip, hoping for the chance to see snow flurries or even build a snowman. Unfortunately, below-freezing temps are always bad news for our agricultural producers so we are urging everyone to stay updated with the latest weather alerts and take necessary precautions! The freeze could affect producers all the way down to Lake Okeechobee, but we are hopeful that Florida will not see a big loss and will still be able to supply our nation with the fresh fruits, vegetables and seafood that our state is famous for during this time of year!
Keep an eye on our Agricultural Emergency Report blog for the last information
We are also asking for any reports or pictures of farms and fields, both pre and post freeze. Please leave a comment here or email us at email@example.com.
