Get with the Program!

May 17, 2010

In the past few weeks you have seen me talk about how great the Fresh from Florida Kids program is and how we have all this information and stuff to offer parents, but I haven’t actually told you how to join the program (the most important part!). There are two ways to participate:

-Just do it! Check our website and Facebook page for updates – we are constantly adding new recipes, tips and contests.  We have recipes for everything from baby food to toddler snacks to family meals, and tips for parents on feeding, teaching and remaining active.
Sign up through our website to receive a kit that contains tools to begin your baby or toddler on the right path to healthy eating.  Depending on your child’s age, you could receive a food grinder for making your own baby food, ice cube trays for freezing baby food, a bib, storage container, cup, bowl, cutting board, peeler, apron and information/recipe binder.  To be eligible for this, you must: Be a Florida resident and  be an expecting parent or have a child up to 24 months old. Click here to sign up. Note: only one kit per household
UPDATE:

Due to overwhelming response, the “Fresh From Florida Kids” program is no longer providing the healthy eating kit to participants.

      Hi Sharon,
Thanks for visiting our blog and the Fresh from Florida Kids website. We’re sorry that we ran out of the kits before you were able to request one. I am not sure of when we will have more in stock. If you send your mailing address to me at primms@doacs.state.fl.us, I would be happy to send you a copy of our Fresh from Florida Kids booklet that includes feeding and preparation guidelines, tips and recipes. Thanks for supporting our program.

i wish to sign up, but it looks like you are no longer sending out the kits. i would have found this kit very helpful in starting my 4 month old daughter on solid foods. i am also passionate about healthy eating AND saving money in the process. any way you can pass along some coupon savings? thank you for your time.

      Hi Rachel,
Thanks for visiting our blog and the Fresh from Florida Kids website. We’re sorry that we ran out of the kits before you were able to request one. We are also currently out of the coupons that go in the kits. I am not sure if or when we will have more available. However, if you send your mailing address to me at primms@doacs.state.fl.us, I would be happy to mail you a copy of our Fresh from Florida Kids booklet, which includes a lot of great money-saving tips.
