Epcot’s Fresh from Florida Weekend 2010 – Camp Bayou

July 26, 2010

Camp Bayou Outdoor Learning Center joined us at the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival this year. What an interesting place!

Located at 4140 24th Street SE in Ruskin, Florida (near Tampa), Camp Bayou is a 160-acre nature preserve.  The mission of the facility is to promote local culture and history through the natural resources in the area.  It is a public-private partnership which has a lot of opportunities for visitors.  You can visit the Nature Center, walk along the trails and see the native wildlife and vegetation, paddle a canoe, and even take classes about the resources.

If you’re looking for a family-friendly activity, check out Camp Bayou Outdoor Learning Center.  Admission is free.  There may be a small fee for some of the classes, but there are so many things to do and you can get in touch with nature right in Central Florida.
